One of the most historic and beautiful cities you need to visit, Rome, Italy's capital is very well known globally for its art, architecture and influential culture. If you are interested in history and breath taking buildings but also a sunny destination Rome is your place.

If you are a big fan of Italian food, which I am sure that you are, Rome is where you want to go. All the city is covered with Italian restaurant and delicious gelato ice cream that you will never forget.

There are so many things you can do in this historical city, it is also very romantic if you like to travel with your beloved one. Rome  has lots of places to visit and see for free, most famous places to visit are:

St. Peter’s Square

The most famous square in Rome which is located in Vatican City. it was created in the 17th century by Bernini, the square is surrounded on two sides by colonnades before St. Peter's Basilica, which makes the place to be so warm even though during the winter time such as February month. Plenty space for everyone to fit as there are many places to sit. One of my favourite place, was the centre as the Egyptian obelisk stands, which was transported from Egypt to Rome during the reign of Emperor Augustus.

2  Victor Emanuel  II Monument

This white building is all build by white marble which contains many rooms inside, It was build in honour of Victor Emmanuel, the first kind of unified Italy. It took 40 years to be build which was started in 1885. This white marble building makes you wonder how it is possible to build such a build in that period of time. Also the big statues on top of the building, it makes you think that how the workers have place them to the top? what kind of power the humanity used to have that time? It is believed that this building cannot be build again, even though the technology we have and all equipment.

3  Trevi Fountain

Trevi Fountain is a mythological sculptural composition of Neptune (god of sea). It was completed in 1762 and designed by Nicola Salvi and was flanked by two Tritons. the fountain was the setting for an iconic scene in Fellini's film Dolce Vita starring Anita Ekberg and Marcello Mastroianni. Since that, it is one of the most famous and popular tourist attractions in Rome, is always extremely busy surounded by tourist taking pictures and appreciating the architecture. It is said that if you throw a coin in the fountain shall one day return to Rome.

4  Colosseum

Colosseum is a major tourist attraction. The elliptical amphitheater could hold up to 50,000 people which used to go to watch gladiators do battle. Colosseum was built in the first century and of course was the largest amphitheater in the Roman Empire. This stone and concrete structure of building is considered as one of the Romans' greatest architectural and engineering feats.
